Armenia to open embassy in Jerusalem

Armenia announced the establishment of an embassy in Jerusalem Thursday afternoon.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement welcoming the Armenian initiative.

“Israel welcomes this decision, which reflects well on the significant progress in state relations between the two countris over the past year,” the statement read.

Foreign Minister Israel Katz also welcomed the decision, saying “this decision indicates the rise in Israel’s strengthening position in the world”.
