The Truth Behind Muslims Refusing to Go Up to the Mosque on Temple Mount

There’s a power struggle going on in Jerusalem and here’s what it’s all about… Last week 3 Islamic terrorists attacked and killed 2 Druze-Israeli police officers near the holiest place in the world for the Jewish Nation – the Temple Mount. This is the site of the First and Second Holy Temples that the ancient Israelites built thousands of years ago and is the location toward which all Jews around the world continue to direct their prayers until today. The Muslim terrorists used the Temple Mount as staging grounds for their attack, hiding weapons there and emerging from the holy site to get a jump on the Israeli police. Israel then closed the site for a brief period of time while searched for any additional stashed guns, knives, pipe bombs and the like. What they found was quite disturbing but not very surprising. Police found several caches of all of the above in addition to other various weapons hidden in and around the mosque. This mosque is also the site of many inflammatory speeches given by extremist imams and other Muslim leaders – calls to murder Jews, destroy the West and spread their version of Islam to all 4 corners of the earth.

So, what’s happened since then? The Israeli police installed metal detectors at the Muslim entrances to the Temple Mount – something that only existed at the only entrance where non-Muslims (Jews, Christians, Hindus, etc.) are allowed to enter the Temple Mount. What’s that? You’re surprised to hear that only one entrance is allowed to be used by non-Muslims while there are 11 gates open to Muslims? Yes, the Islamic Wakf (Islamic Trust based out of Amman, Jordan) administers the site despite the fact that Israel reclaimed the Temple Mount in the Six Day War of 1967. The Wakf refuses to allow non-Muslims equal access or rights (such as prayer) on the world’s most holy spot. In truth, this is the real apartheid of Israel… only, it’s a crime that’s perpetrated by the Islamic Wakf against the world. This is similar to the discrimination that takes place in Saudi Arabia, where non-Muslims are banned from entering the entire city of Mecca. Getting back to Jerusalem – Israel has avoided putting up metal detectors or strict security checks of Muslims entering the Temple Mount in an attempt to avoid conflict. The entire reason that Israel allowed the Islamic Wakf to be custodians of the Temple Mount since 1967 is to demonstrate to the Arab world Israel’s desire to live in peace and allow them full religious rights in Israel. Has it worked? In short, no – as can be seen from the recent terror attack as well as the various other terrorist attacks perpetrated by Muslim extremists in and around the city. In fact, several Islamic Wakf workers have been implicated in assisting the terrorists in bringing their weapons into the site.

Why is this all important? Unfortunately, Israel’s “partners in peace” are not looking to compromise on their ultimate goals. Those goals are simple – the destruction of Israel and the Jewish People, dismantling of everything associated with Western culture and domination of Islam over every inch of land that comes under their control. Currently, the Wakf and Muslims extremists all around are refusing to go through the metal detectors in order to go up onto the Temple Mount (see the article linked below for more). Really? Is it that big of a deal to walk through a metal detector? We all do it every time we go to an airport. In Israel, almost every mall, museum or other public site has one. In fact, to get into any major site in Saudi Arabia there’s a metal detector and no Muslim says boo! If the Al Aqsa mosque on the Temple Mount is truly so holy for them, why wouldn’t they just walk through the gates to pray there?

To add to the intrigue, we must point out that Jerusalem and the Temple Mount sat mostly desolate under Muslim rule for centuries. Travelers and explorers throughout the generations, such as Mark Twain, have described in great detail the desolation, lack of inhabitants and overall disrepair of Jerusalem and Israel. Only when the Jewish People began to return to the Land of Israel, did the Arab world suddenly awaken and create claims of the importance of the city to them. Only a few years earlier, the Arabs were only too happy to sell pieces of Jerusalem back to the Jews. Again, what’s really going on here?

It’s actually quite simple, and it comes down to one word — sovereignty. The extremist Muslim leaders refuse to accept Israel’s sovereignty over Jerusalem. They refuse to accept Israeli sovereignty over even one inch of Israel. They have started multiple wars with Israel since 1947 in order to prevent Israel from living normal, peaceful lives in our historic homeland. And, they have lost every one of those wars — miserably! Why won’t they accept the basic truth that Jerusalem was the Jewish Nation’s capital thousands of years before Islam was even created as a religion? Why won’t they simply live their lives in peace and allow the rest of the world to do the same? Why do they resort to such evil tactics of terrorism? Unfortunately, the extremist ideologies of these actors are the same as those of ISIS. They refuse to accept anyone else’s sovereignty in the world. Their ultimate goal is evil and is the same as that of ISIS. It’s up to Jerusalem and all that support her to stand united against this evil.
